Losing weight is hard, but herbal remedies can give you an edge. Whether you want to turn up your metabolism to burn fat for fuel or stop cravings in their tracks, there’s an herbal remedy that’s right for you. When you add herbs to your weight loss routine, you expect to see results fast. These 5 weight loss herbs start working immediately.
Garcinia Cambogia
Garcinia is taken as a capsule or a tea in order to help speed up metabolism and burn fat. It contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA) which has been shown in some studies to cause weight loss. It’s a popular herb to take if you’re just looking to drop 10 – 20lbs while you keep your diet untouched. Garcinia is one of the most widely-used weight loss herbs on the market.
Bitter Orange
If you’re looking for most of the benefits of Garnicia at a lower price tag, bitter orange peel might be exactly what you need. It’s also a good source of antioxidants and HCA, although it isn’t as potent as Garcinia. Users of bitter orange peel typically make it into tea that they drink 3 or 4 times throughout the day.
Commiphora
This weird-sounding herb is an Ayurvedic staple for weight-loss and cholesterol control. It’s used in India to help metabolize fatty dishes, and studies show that it works. After a week of daily light cardio exercise, the people taking Commiphora lost 6lbs, while the control group only lost a pound.
Capsaicin
Almost everyone is familiar with the fiery heat of capsaicin. It can also be taken as a supplement in order to boost metabolism and increase circulation. Capsaicin is always taken as a capsule 2 or 3 times per day. The compound seems to have some effect on fat metabolism and enzymes in the liver associated with digestion.
Green Tea
Green tea is full of antioxidants, and antioxidants help the body break down fat. Green tea extract supercharges your body and prepares it to burn fat for fuel. Green tea extract has been shown in study after study to help people shed pounds and inches. It’s a great addition to your diet if you’re trying to slim down.
Calamus Root
Calamus root works by cranking your metabolism up high. It’s a stimulant, so smoking calamus root or drinking tea made with it will kill cravings. A lot of people prefer to use calamus root alongside another weight loss herb in order to give it a bit of extra kick.
Weight Loss Smoking Blend
This weight-loss smoking blend acts immediately to kill cravings for 2 – 4 hours. It’s a great way to get past temptation and start making healthier changes in your diet. It can help you stop mindless snacking.

Great info. Most of these herbs are not commonly known for weight loss, so this is very interesting to me. Thanks
kava will damage your liver very quickly.
Hey 🙂 which herb listed here would you say is the most effective in general with metabolism boosting? Thanks
Love the idea that I can smoke away cravings, esp as I am trying to quit smoking cigarettes
There are also some really cool vaporizers that let you pack in whole herbs if you’d rather not smoke anything at all.
Which is healthier and which is mor effective, smoking or drinking these herbs.?
Thanks for commenting Jermy, great question!
Smoking these herbs is most effective. The effects don’t last as long as when you drink them, but they are more intense.
Making tea gives you longer-lasting effects, but it won’t be as intense unless you use a lot more of them.
When it comes to weight loss, I think it’s best to do both. Keep some around rolled up in a joint to help with quick cravings, and drink tea about an hour before every meal.
can a vape oil be made of herbs so you don’t have to breathe in smoke…would that be doable and effective?
I am using CB oil now which is amazing for imflammation and would love to use other herbs also
